The common test to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses will be held by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) at 86 centers in 41 cities between December 5th and 13th, 2016. For the dental post graduate courses (MDS), the exam will be held from November 30th to December 3rd, 2016.

NEET-PG is a single window entrance examination for entry to post graduate medical courses in the country, and unlike a one-time reprieve provided to states for conducting undergraduate medical and dental courses this year, no other entrance examination either at state level or institutional level will be valid anymore. However, autonomous medical institutes— All India Institute of Medical Sciences, PGIMER-Chandigarh, JIPMER-Pondicherry, NIMHANS-Bangalore and SRICHITRA Institute- Thiruvananthapuram, are not covered by NEET PG. The Supreme Court in April this year gave the green signal for NEET, to avoid multiple entrance tests and minimise corruption and irregularities in admissions to medical courses.
