Seattle’s active roster expands to 27 players for both games

DENVER, Colo. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today that RHP Cody Bolton was reinstated from the 15-day Injured List and appointed as 27th-man for today’s doubleheader at Colorado.

The Mariners active roster expands to 27 players for both games.

Bolton, 25, was placed on the 15-day Injured List on April 8 (retro. April 6) with a general medical issue. He made 1 rehab appearance with Triple-A Tacoma on April 18 at Las Vegas, tossing a scoreless inning with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. He has appeared in 4 games out of the Mariners bullpen this season, posting a 3.00 ERA (2 ER, 6.0 IP) with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. The right-hander was acquired by Seattle from Pittsburgh in exchange for cash considerations on Nov. 2, 2023.

Bolton was originally selected by the Pirates in the 6th round of the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Tracy High School (CA). In 2 Major League seasons with Pittsburgh (2023) and Seattle (2024-c), the 6-foot-2 righty is 1–0 with a 5.60 ERA (17 ER, 27.1 IP) with 17 walks and 25 strikeouts across 20 relief appearances.
