SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today that INF/OF Sam Haggerty has been reinstated from the 10-day Injured List and optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.
Haggerty, 29, began the season on the 10-day Injured List (medical procedure). He appeared in 6 games with Triple-A Tacoma during a rehab assignment, batting .286 (6x21) with 2 runs, 1 double, 2 stolen bases, 3 walks and a .708 OPS. He also appeared in 9 games during Spring Training prior to the injury.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound infielder/outfielder appeared in 52 games with the Mariners last season, batting .253 (23x91) with 12 runs, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 5 RBI, 10 stolen bases and a .705 OPS. He also appeared in 47 games with Tacoma last season, batting .324 (60x185), 41 runs, 15 doubles, 4 triples, 8 home runs, 29 RBI, 19 stolen bases and a .997 OPS.
Haggerty has appeared in parts of 5 Major League seasons with New York-NL (2019) and Seattle (2020-c), batting .241 (97x403) with 64 runs, 19 doubles, 2 triples, 9 home runs, 39 RBI, 32 stolen bases and a .686 OPS. He made his Major League debut with the New York Mets on September 4, 2019 vs. Washington.
