Last year, we launched the Devolutions’ Inside Sales Team and introduced you to its first member, my talented colleague, Gabriel. As some of you have experienced, the mandate of our Inside Sales Team is to NOT aggressively sell anything. While we work hard and are passionate around here, the only thing we do aggressively is play foosball. We have an immense amount of respect for the IT pros that we serve, and our purpose is to share objective, unbiased information to help our customers make informed and effective decisions. And if that decision is to purchase any of our solutions, then Gabriel and his colleagues ensure that the transaction and onboarding experience are flawless. Today, I’m pleased to announce that thanks to strong demand and growth, we’re adding another talented member to the Inside Sales Team. Please say hello to Dérick St-Hilaire! I recently chatted with Dérick to learn more about his background and personality. Here’s a look at our conversation:

Can you tell me a bit about your professional background?

I have a Degree in Marketing from the University of Québec at Trois-Rivières. Prior to joining Devolutions, I worked as a marketing agent at a large garage door repair and maintenance company, and as a sales representative at one of the largest fastener distribution enterprises in the world.

What would you say is your biggest professional achievement so far?

I designed a marketing campaign that involved researching and monitoring media, and which helped my management team make smarter and faster decisions regarding resource allocation and an optimal marketing mix. The project was a big success, and I’d say it’s my biggest professional achievement to date.

What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?

I first learned about Devolutions a few years ago while I was still in college and have wanted to work here since then. The business model, the direction of the company, the culture, the mindset and the smart and interesting people who work here are all reasons why this is the place to be!

What would you say are your top three strengths at work?

I like to learn new things, which is helping me as I get familiar with all of Devolutions’ products and services. I’m also very dedicated at work and ready to give 100 percent to accomplish my goals and help my team. I’d also say that I’m efficient in my work.

What tasks do you carry out in your job?

My principal task is to make sure our customers are 100 percent satisfied with their purchase and with their overall Devolutions experience.

What are your impressions of working here?

I’ve felt like a full team member since the first day! It’s great to feel accepted and be surrounded by diverse and interesting people. The job is fun and challenging, and has even exceeded my high expectations.

What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?

My biggest goal at Devolutions is to make a meaningful and important contribution.

On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

I enjoy anything related to the outdoors, like camping, hiking and climbing. But like any good geek, I also like watching a lot of movies and TV shows. And since I started working here, I’ve become a big foosball fan!
