making this pendant was so fun therapeutic i am surprised that i have not made a bunch more recycled silver wire pendants. look for one with mixed wire coming soon.
although the finished product retains a bit of the original design it is so fun to watch as the heat from the torch shrinks, flattens and transforms the designs in the wire. i melted some areas, fused some areas and soldered yet a few others until all moving components became stationary and the pendant as a whole was stable and solid. a little bit more reshaping came when i had to use the rawhide mallet to work harden it. its no fun having a floppy silver pendant, right? i finished it up by filing, sanding, polishing, cleaning and then tossing it in the tumbler for a while. when i took it out i was like "wow! this turned out so cool!"
i do not think that there is a true front of back to this pendant. i like both sides for different reasons. how about you?
