MANHATTAN, KAN. – Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report for theft in the 800 block of Commons Place in Manhattan (Target) on November 21, 2016, at approximately 10:45 AM. Police were made aware of the theft that involved 2 unknown females who took 2 electric scooter hover boards valued in total at approximately $800.00. Currently, suspects are unknown and no arrests have been made or citations issued. Those with information on this crime are encouraged to contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
A report for burglary, criminal damage to property, and theft of property or services was filed in the 2800 block of W. 56th Ave. in Manhattan on November 21, 2016, at approximately 12:00 PM. Police found that a 2004 GMC Sierra was removed without the owner’s, Wood Enterprises of Ogden, permission. Gas caps, an auger attachment, and vehicle battery were also removed. The total estimated loss is listed as $7,145.00 which includes damage to a storage locker door. Currently, officers are asking anyone with information to contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Those using the Crime Stoppers service can remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
Paul Olberg, 50, of Junction City, Kansas was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on November 21, 2016, at approximately 3:25 PM. Olberg was arrested on the offenses of battery and theft of property or services which was listed on a warrant from Shawnee County, Kansas. He was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.
