WEDNESDAY 1 November 21:00
Earlier today, representatives of LBS met with Mid Sussex District Council officers to review the conditions on the common.
The common at present is wet, as you would expect, and as things stand at present we are able to hold our event. We expect the common to be very wet on Saturday and you should wear suitable clothing and footwear if you are planning on attending.
We will be fencing off some additional parts of the common to ensure public safety and to protect the Common. We may also have to modify our programme of events in the light of forecast rain and high windspeeds over the next few days. We will implement these changes if necessary, and keep you informed. We have another review with MSDC scheduled for Friday.
We will continue to monitor the situation between now and Saturday and keep you informed of any changes as we liaise with our agency partners and pyrotechnic providers. So please check back here regularly for the latest information.
Sunday 29 October 12:00
The weather forecast is for heavy rain between now and on the day of our event, Saturday 4th November, and strong winds on the day itself.
This will make the common potentially very muddy and boggy. Therefore please wear suitable footwear for your own comfort and safety if you are planning on attending as the ground will be very wet and slippery in places.
As a result of forecast bad weather, we may have to take additional measures to ensure public safety and to protect the Common. We may also have to modify our programme of events in the light of forecast rain and high windspeeds. We will implement these changes if necessary, and keep you informed.
We will continually be monitoring the situation between now and Saturday and keep you informed of any changes as we liaise with our agency partners and pyrotechnic providers. So please check back here regularly for the latest information.
