This is the huge electric battery under the floor of every Jaguar F Pace. It weighs a heck of a lot and keeps the Jag going places.
Soon Bridgwater will be going to even more places because all the very latest electric batteries for all Jaguar Land Rover vehicles will be developed and manufactured just up the road on the new Gravity site near Woolavington.
It is a huge economic boost for our town and a tribute to the determined campaign by Gravity, the site’s new owners, to market their dream to a world leading car manufacturer – the Tata Group.
Much credit is also due to Sedgemoor District Council who worked behind the scenes to ensure that Bridgwater’s case was well developed and intelligently delivered. It worked.
The site once housed a famous Royal Ordnance Factory that loaded Sir Barnes Wallis’ famous “Bouncing Bombs”
The new site will create almost 10,000 new jobs. Great news!
