Sorry it's a little late again. People were busy again.

Panda couldn't write a piece this week.

anime
by @Nanashi

Okay, much better.
Remember my article from the previous week? Ufotable has announced that all the remaining episodes of God Eater, so 10-13, will air on TV - however a little later, in the winter. For now all the remaining info we were given is the episodes' titles, which make some space for you to think of possible outcomes of the action left. Knowing the game's plot, I'm pretty hyped for it, though I'm sure they won't stick to the game's plot on the remaining episodes.
EPISODE 10 - 散華 - "Sange" (A Glorious End)
EPISODE 11 - メテオライト - "Meteor Light"
EPISODE 12 - 第一部隊 - "Dai-Ichi Butai" (First Unit)
EPISODE 13 - 蓮華 - "Renge" (Lotus Flower) [this title might also sygnalize the final will actually play off like the game did]

Seven Deadly Sins - not over yet?
Remember Nanatsu no Taizai? I bet you do, it just finished airing not that long ago. The 24-episode run of this action comedy anime proves to not be enough, since the second season has already been green-lit, and it will air no later than in 2016. From the looks of it, the same studio is going to take up the production. No further details are yet known.

And here we waited this long for Attack on Titan...

Right in the kokoro.
Two days ago I was casually talking with my friend over voice chat. The only thing you need to know is that I used headphones on medium volume. And my ears still hurt. Why? Well, he finished watching Charlotte - and the post-ending info on the very last episode of it revealed that a new anime project is underway. His reaction to the title of it would be pretty obvious for me, if I knew beforehand such an announcement will be made...
8-bit, the studio that brought us the wonderful adaptation of Grisaia series, will work on Key/Visual Arts' title called... Rewrite.

Quote:The original 2011 Rewrite visual novel takes place in Kazamatsuri, a fictional city where civilization and greenery co-exist. Within it, players assume the role of student Kotaro Tennoji and interact with his fellow classmates Kotori Kanbe, Chihaya Ohtori, Akane Senri, Sizuru Nakatsu, and Lucia Konohana.
Worth noting, the game is NOT an eroge, so we're in for a real treat.

Issue #8: Drake & Future: What A Time To Be Alive

Drake & Future released their collaborational album titled 'What A Time To Be Alive' on Sept. 20th featuring 11 tracks in total. The album started out with the less-than-energetic 'Digital Dash' which originally left me feeling under-hyped about the album itself, but shortly after you're thrown into the generic club rap track 'Big Rings', with a hook that sounds like it was thrown together at the last second. This track seems to be less-than-stellar and brings about a few hints that this album might've been rushed out the door. A glimmer of hope began to shine through with the songs 'Live From The Gutter' and 'Diamonds Dancing' bringing back a familiarity to the styles we've known all along. Most of the following songs revisit the same flows and styles that you'd expect from the rappers, with a couple tracks still being noticeably rushed. The album wraps itself up with two seperate songs from the artists, with Future's track 'Jersey' and Drake's '30 for 30 freestyle'. All in all I was a little dissapointed in the follow up album to the now platinum 'If You're Reading This It's Too Late', but still hopeful for new and inspirational tracks in the future.

NVIDIA brings its top-end desktop graphics to laptops

engadget.com Wrote:You no longer need a huge, water-cooled rig to play the latest blockbuster shooters, with plenty of gaming laptops doing a fine job of marrying performance with portability. But a divide still exists, with even the best mobile GPUs defined as "desktop-class," which is a nice way of saying they aren't quite as powerful as the cards made for home office-hogging towers. That said, in what NVIDIA claims is an industry first, the company has today announced its top-end GeForce GTX 980 desktop GPU is headed to laptops. Not to be confused with the GTX 980M -- NVIDIA's previous flagship GPU for notebooks -- the GTX 980 for laptops is exactly the same as the desktop version, offering identical gaming performance.

Source.

NIVIDIA DID IT. They managed to squeeze a full desktop-class GTX 980 in a laptop. The GTX 980's are specifically hand selected for a high ASIC rating (cooler card, better overclocker) and has a higher percent average silicon die. I can't even imagine how fast users use up their battery. These desktop 980's even support overclocking. This is flipping awesome. This isn't exactly new, Nvidia has done it before. But fitting a card with a TDP of 165w.

Apple prepares for thinner iPhones with slim headphone plug patent

appleinsider.com Wrote:The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Tuesday issued Apple U.S. Patent No. 9,142,925 for a "D-shaped connector" that replaces the existing low-profile headphone plug and receptacle standard with a shorter, thinner design. This "improved" model would sport all the functionality of a modern 3.5mm TRRS (tip, ring, ring, sleeve) connector, but with a trim profile suitable for use in extremely thin devices.

Much like today's headphone plug, Apple's design features external contacts positioned along a sleeve. Dielectric strips isolate contacts along the sleeve carrying left audio, right audio and microphone signals, while a ground contact lives in the plug's tip. Deviating from current standards, however, is its shape.

Taking on a "D" profile, Apple's plug has one flat side that acts as a keyed feature, meaning it restricts insertion to a matching D-shaped cavity. Some embodiments incorporate a flexible inner member that helps mitigate potential insertion issues, while at the same time reinforcing structural integrity.

Source.

Apple is pulling more hipster shit. Have they ever heard the line, “If it ain't broke, don't fix it”? Apparently not because they filed a patent for a headphone jack that has a portion of the sides cut off. It doesn't make any sense why Apple did this, I really hope Apple doesn't make this a proprietary connector. That would be some major bs.

Fox is bringing more than 100 movies to the Oculus VR Cinema

engadget.com Wrote:While gaming and other fully immersive experiences have already flourished on VR, at least one studios is jumping in with a way to watch movies on the big (small) screen. Fox confirmed today at the Oculus Connect 2 event that the company is bringing more than 100 of its movies to the Oculus Store at launch. You'll watch the movies in the Oculus VR Cinema app, where you can watch movies in 2D or 3D on a huge virtual screen (you can see what it looks like after the break). Movies that are coming include Alien, Birdman, Taken, Die Hard, Office Space and more.

Fox is bringing tons of movies to the Oculus Rift. This is ground breaking because a major company has given permission for Oculus to run their movies. Many users had to torrent/download their movies then use a program to export it to the Rift. A complicated process that doesn't need to be there. Fox stepped up and will be bringing 100 movies to the Oculus. Awesome!

Nvidia Pascal GP100 GPU has new Architecture and support for HBM2.0

gsmarena.com Wrote:As you have probably heard, LG is planning to spice things up a little with the upcoming LG V10. What started out as a quirky and quite questionable dual screen phablet, has now passed through TENAA and appeared in a few leaks, more or less proving its existence.
But if there was any doubt left, LG's new teaser for the product, definitively proves that the smartphone will be unveiled on October 1. The video itself doesn't really offer too much info, nor does it give us a proper look and the V10. All we get is a glimpse of the second screen near the top of the unit, along with what looks to be a dual front camera setup.

Source.

LG announced a phone with dual screens. Why? Probably to say they're the first company with a dual-display phone. I bet the battery life will be trash and the firmware crappy. But what do I know? Not too much about phones. Anyways, the V10 has a teaser trailer with not much information. All we know is that on October 1st is the day specs will be released (I hope).

We reached 20k posts, 1500 threads, and 750 members (170 members in the last week :o).

I've been pretty busy at work for the past week; so I've lacked time to do any substantial changes to Lewd as it is, or to our upcoming forum software.

We do have an IRC server on its way, I just need time to setup the services (and SSL); then it'll be good to go. (Read more about it in this thread)

Some nice threads:
