<p>We're looking for Product Owners to strengthen our Portugal-based Engineering team.</p>

<p>Our Pentaho Product Owner owns the core Pentaho product and is responsible for product success, making sure the product creates value for our customers and meets market demands. The product owner is a liaison and advocate to the Engineering team for the field, customers and market. As product owner, you will be working in a collaborative environment designing, planning and building our next generation enterprise solutions.</p>

<p><strong>Role and Responsibilities:</strong></p>

<ul>
<li>Work with the Product Team on the prioritized business requirements</li>
<li>Translate the requirements into a Definition of Done for each epic and story, including system concepts, features, functions, user experiences, taxonomy, etc.</li>
<li>Work with the other team members to determine what features, functions, etc. address the business problem</li>
<li>Hold ultimate accountability for the “what and why” and educating the other team members on what we are building and why we are building it</li>
<li>Give the Product Team the information they need to educate Sales, Marketing, Services, and Support on the functionality that the team has delivered</li>
<li>Work with the other team members to create epics and stories in JIRA and owning the responsibility of helping everyone understand them</li>
<li>Assist the rest of the team in understanding and honoring the “Definition of Done”</li>
<li>Order and manage the backlog based on business value</li>
<li>Be available to the team to answer questions and deliver direction</li>
<li>Respect the team’s ability to create its own plan of action</li>
<li>Accept and reject work at the appropriate interval of the sprint</li>
<li>Work with the rest of the team to create an end-of-release technical demo for Support, Services, and Sales Engineering</li>
<li>Advise the Release Owner of any significant changes to deliverables</li>
</ul>

Main requirements

<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems. Computer Science/Technical Degrees or equivalents</li>
<li>You must be comfortable working in a heterogeneous technology environment (Windows/Mac/Unix) and diving into a broad array of new technologies. We are a Java/Web shop, so while there is room for Microsoft experience, your bread should be buttered more with the likes of Ubuntu/Linux and Apache open source stacks (as examples)</li>
<li>Excellent technical writing skills with an ability to compose clear and crisp user stories for agile teams</li>
<li>Have a functional understanding of software development</li>
<li>Strong business analysis skills and product management experience</li>
<li>Excellent time management with the ability to work under pressure and get the job done</li>
<li>You have exceptional written, verbal, and very strong interpersonal skills</li>
<li>You are a proactive, entrepreneurial, self-starter who always goes above and beyond</li>
<li>Experience working with information architecture and user experience</li>
<li>Excellent understanding and experience with Agile/Scrum methodology, with the ability to adapt these methodologies to projects</li>
</ul>

Nice to have

<ul>
<li>3 to 5+ years experience with one or more of the Pentaho suite of tools: Pentaho Business Analytics and/or Pentaho Data Integration, Pentaho’s embedded capabilities, Pentaho APIs, or Pentaho Big Data</li>
<li>Experience in the fields of business intelligence, analytics, big data, distributed systems and/or cloud computing, ideally including roles as business analyst, project manager, technical analyst, solutions architect, etc</li>
<li>Experience defining, creating, and launching successful new high quality products</li>
<li>Analytics or business intelligence architecture / design experience</li>
<li>Scrum and actual Agile experience of 2-5 years</li>
<li>Experience with building enterprise quality products, enabling business capability and objectives through technology</li>
<li>Proficient with building workflows, creating/“grooming”/prioritizing product backlogs, writing user stories, and developing acceptance criteria</li>
<li>Awesome prioritization skills that align with business and IT stakeholders</li>
