The Fourth Edition of Daredevils School Cup Tournament was inaugurated in great style by Delhi Daredevils on 16 Nov 2015 at the Cricket Ground of Modern Public School, Barakhamba Road. The tournament in T20 format is being held in partnership with USA Pears. Needless to say, this festive season will surely offer Delhi a great cricketing feast for the next one and half months.
Inauguration
At the Inauguration Ceremony, Sunil Valson – AVP GMR Sports, who is also the mentor of the entire program, wished all the participating teams all the best and added that the Daredevils School Cup was a great opportunity for young sports enthusiasts as it involved coaching clinics, sports camps, international exposure and training for selected cricketers.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Keith Sunderlal, India representative of USA Pears said that they were very excited to associate with Delhi Daredevils again this year. Their growers and shippers of USA Pears were delighted to be associated with the Delhi Daredevils School Cup. USA Pears, the delightfully juicy and elusively flavored sweet fruit was one of the favorite fruits of students. The demand for USA Pears was always on rise but, this season, they were offering additional choices to their consumers. They were promoting USA Pears for Health and Fitness since, they shared Daredevils’ beliefs on Health, Fitness and Nutrition.
About Delhi Daredevils
Delhi Daredevils (DD) is a very famous name in the cricketing world not only in India but abroad as well. Sponsored by GMR, they have been participating in Indian Premier League (IPL) since 2008. Over the years, DD has nursed cricketing talent and produced many cricketers who have brought laurels to the country. It has always worked with a great resolve in the field of Social Responsibilty (SR). Daredevils Corporate Cup and Daredevils School Cup in T20 formats have been conducted on yearly basis to foster a spirit of sportsmanship and team spirit among the Corporates as well as school children.
Daredevils along with USA Pears, partners yet again, for an initiative to promote grassroots cricket and to identify promising cricketing talent from Delhi- NCR. The focus will be on following aspects:-

Daredevils Corporate Cup
Daredevils Corporate Cup is a unique platform that celebrates sportsmanship and teamwork. It is one of the finest Annual Corporate Cricket Tournaments of India and aims at giving the white collar of Delhi- NCR an opportunity to showcase their athletic talent and to take a breather from their 9 to 6 routine. The Second Edition of this tournament concluded on 01 Nov 2015.
Daredevils Schools Cup
The main objective of this tournament is to provide wider exposure to school children to the world of sports thus, helping the sports fraternity spot new and upcoming talent. The tournament would open avenues for them to shape their future and emerge on the sporting horizon of the country.
Inaugural Match
The inaugural match was played between Frank Anthony School and Modern Public School. Batting first, Modern Public School scored 213 runs in the allotted 20 overs, courtesy a century by one of their openers. Chasing the target, Frank Anthony Public School could not handle bowlers of Modern Public School and were bundled out for only 81 runs thus, losing the match by a wide margin of 132 runs.
Spectators
The stands slowly filled up as the match progressed. Good shots by batsmen and nice bowling effort by bowlers drew immense appreciation from the spectators in the form of clapping and cheering.
Prize Distribution
A presentation ceremony was held after the match to give away the Best Batsman Award. All players and officials were presented a mini hamper by officials of USA Pears.

Fresh pears grown in these regions are recognized worldwide for their unsurpassed quality. They are readily available in India from October to February.
Dispersal
All good things come to an end. After an entertaining match, everybody dispersed in high spirits.
