Bethesda, Md. (Feb. 24, 2016) — KoolSpan, Inc., a leading provider of interoperable secure voice and messaging solutions for mobile phones, today announced a partnership with Sonim Technologies, maker of the world’s toughest mobile phones, to provide TrustCall, KoolSpan’s secure voice and messaging platform, on Sonim’s ruggedized, high quality Android smartphones.

KoolSpan will integrate its TrustCall Global Service at the point of manufacture on Sonim devices and provide additional support for Sonim users to download the TrustCall app from Google Play.

Sonim’s smartphones are built specifically to withstand the rigors faced by industrial workers serving in the military, as well as public safety, construction, oil and gas, forestry, manufacturing, transportation and agriculture. Users in these demanding and hazardous environments often need military-grade hardware alongside workforce-critical secure and private encrypted communications tools. To meet this need, KoolSpan and Sonim are bringing to market an ultra-rugged phone equipped with native secure voice and text messaging capabilities.

“Let’s face it, if you use your phone for work, your phone calls and text messages have to be secure,” said Carl Nerup, General Manager, Sonim Technologies. “TrustCall offers Sonim enterprise and government users an enterprise-grade encrypted secure communications solution so they can have peace of mind.”

“Koolspan is delighted to partner with Sonim to provide voice and text encryption capabilities over their world renowned ruggedized handset range,” said Tom Bryant, Chief Commercial Officer at KoolSpan. “Given today’s global geopolitical and business environments, it is increasingly necessary that hardened military-grade mobile technology and secure encrypted communication tools are in the hands of military personnel and workers operating under extreme conditions.”

Under the terms of this partnership, Sonim devices are compatible with the TrustCall application and available for download through Google Play, to combine the toughest and most reliable hardware devices with FIPS 140-2 validated, end-to-end 256-bit AES encryption, enabling Sonim smartphone users to exchange secure calls and text messages anywhere they have access to cellular and Wi-Fi networks. Built on KoolSpan’s unique intellectual property including 21 issued and 38 pending patents and years of experience making the best secure communications solutions for enterprise and government organizations worldwide, TrustCall offers proven security, reliability and ease of use for end users.
