Laura Bradford established the Bradford Literary Agency in 2001. She considers herself an editorial-focused agent and takes a hands-on approach to developing proposals and manuscripts with her authors for the most appropriate markets. During her own misadventures as a writer, Laura came to understand the importance of having a friendly but critical eye on your side, a career strategist in your corner and a guide who can lead you through the travails of publication.
Her recent sales include books placed with Berkley, Grand Central, Harlequin, Kensington, Simon and Schuster, HarperCollins, Random House, Sourcebooks, Hyperion, Flux, Macmillan, Adams Media, Egmont USA, John Wiley and Sons and Mira Books. She continues to actively build her client list and is currently seeking work in the following genres: Romance (historical, romantic suspense, paranormal, category, contemporary, erotic), urban fantasy, women’s fiction, mystery, thrillers and young adult as well as some select non-fiction.
She is a member of the Association of Authors’ Representatives (AAR) and Romance Writers of America, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and she is an RWA-recognized agent.

They do not open email attachments, unless specifically requested by an agent. Your entire submission must appear in the body of the email and not as an attachment.
Fiction
Please email a query letter along with the first chapter of your manuscript and a synopsis. Please be sure to include the genre and word count in your cover letter. Picture book submissions: short query along with entire manuscript in body of email.
Non-fiction
Please email your full non-fiction proposal including a query letter and a sample chapter. For detailed guidelines on how to write a non-fiction proposal, please check out the FAQ section.
Please do not send a query exclusively to Bradford Literary Agency. They encourage queries to be shared with multiple agencies.
Queries sent to Laura personal emails will be deleted. Please send only to the addresses above.
Additionally, they freely pass along submissions if they feel your submission is more appropriate for another agent within their agency, so there is no need to query multiple agents at Bradford Lit.
They try to respond to every query we receive. Their approximate response time for queries is 2 to 4 weeks. If you do not receive confirmation of receipt (via an auto-response) when your query is sent, please resend your query and note that you are sending it again.
