Deputy Communications Director of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Anthony Abayifa Karbo has urged Ghanaians not to underestimate the capacity of the party’s eccentric MP for Assin Central, Ken Agyepong to produce evidences to back his claims, which are mostly seen by many as wild allegations.
According to him, the maverick politician does not make spurious statements but has empirical basis for making such conclusions.
The foul mouthed Legislator during the campaign launch of the Asokwa MP, Patricia Apeagyei on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the EC Boss alleging that she did not secure her position based on competence and merit.
Agyapong said some highly placed officials in government told Osei to “bring your buttocks in exchange of EC Chair position.”
He also said; ‘if indeed Nana Addo (the party’s running mate) wins according to the pink sheets and Charlotte Osei dares to rig the elections by twisting our arms in favour of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), we will not allow it to happen in Ghana.”
The radical politician who is in the habit of making strong allegations against persons in authority, has his latest comment greeted with huge flak by a section of the public who believe the MP has debased womanhood with his unfortunate utterances and must be roundly condemned.
Some have questioned his basis for making such claims and have demanded that he substantiates his allegation or must retract and apologize unreservedly.
The MP who is a financier of the largest opposition party has in the past publicly stated that he pays good money for information, adding that he makes pronouncement back by facts.
Speaking to Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Anthony Karbo who’s also the Parliamentary Candidate for Lawra stated that if Ken Agyepong is pushed to the wall, he may be able to provide evidence on the matter which may cause more harm than good.
“You can never underestimate Ken Agyepong, for all you know if we push and push him he might be forced to bring out his evidence. You remember there was a time that we were told there was a video of President Mahama, involved in an illicit activity in Parliament before he became Vice President, and even when he became President…I’ve seen that video, we’ll not use it for campaign.
“Ken said he was not going to release that video but people doubted him when he said he had it. I went to his house and he played that video for me to watch, I saw what happened in that video, but I’m not talking about it. But if we push Ken Agyepong more, he may be forced to come out with his evidence. If he comes out with a video, the very same people who are asking Ken to apologize for his comment will say…oh he didn’t do well, he should have never brought it out.”
