John Wood Community College Foundation Office will host a farewell for retiring JWCC President, Dr. Letts, on his final day before official retirement, Monday, March 31 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.  The farewell will be held at Town and Country Inn and Suites at 110 N. 54th Street in Quincy.  All friends, coworkers and well-wishers are welcome to attend. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available. 

Dr. Letts served JWCC for 25 years and was appointed president in January 2012 by the JWCC Board of Trustees.  

Letts began his tenure at JWCC as dean of students in 1988 and in 2001, the title was changed to vice president for student services. He also served as interim president from August 1996 to February 1997 during the transition from the College’s second president, Dr. Robert Keys, and its third president, Dr. William Simpson. 

Prior to joining JWCC, Letts served as dean of students and director of housing and student activities for Sheridan College and also served as director of housing and student activities for Peru State College.  He holds a doctorate in higher education management from New Mexico State University, a master’s degree in counseling and guidance from University of Nebraska Omaha and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Chardon State College.
