It is with great sadness that the Apostolic Johannite Church announces the passing of one of its leaders – Brother Paul Fecteau, of Thomas the Twin Narthex based out of Kansas City, Missouri, after a period of significant illness.
Paul founded Thomas the Twin Narthex and launched the Sacred Texts Study Group. His spiritual practice focused on interpreting the metaphors of the divine that surround us daily. His academic background often came into play: he earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Wichita State and spent over a dozen years teaching college literature and writing courses. He also worked as an investigator, both as government contractor and as a private detective licensed in Kansas. His experimental work Liber ‘LXIII – A Re-Mythologizing the JFK Assassination was serialized in the magazine Vautrin, and he wrote iota Subscript: a micro-Column on Scriptural Weirdness on Substack.
I had the pleasure of joining in meetings of the Sacred Texts Study Group and the Narthex and Paul also sat with our local parish, St. Joseph of Arimathea to participate in its study group. Paul’s contributions to discussion and learning, both as a leader and a member, were equal parts insight, thoughtfulness, humour and engagement. He was a credit to the work of the Apostolic Johannite Church, and he will be greatly missed.
Our Deacons, Priests and Bishops will be celebrating memorial liturgies for his remembrance and repose, subject to their schedule and circumstance.
On behalf of the Apostolic Johannite Church, we send our deepest condolences to his many friends and family.

Sovereign Pontiff and Patriarch
