Quality & Testing Team, Programme Management Office (PMO)

iSolutions is currently looking to recruit a Testing Team Manager to join their PMO function.

As the Quality & Testing Team Manager you will manage the team through structured test planning and coordination.  You will execute functional and non-functional tests, including performance tests.  Your team will perform both automated and manual test scripts against wide variety of applications to ensure they are functioning and performing as expected.  Your team will be responsible for ensuring robustness and resilience for the University’s IT Applications during the change and release processes.

The key challenge in the role will be the on-going management and control of all test aspects. Specifically, you will focus on covering strategies and plans for unit testing, functional and non-functional (including performance) system testing and user acceptance testing.

You will also be responsible for improving and developing our automated testing and non-functional testing approaches and capabilities in order to evolve the Quality & Testing Team service offering.

You should be capable of rapidly developing a good understanding and knowledge of the University’s various business streams, in order to evaluate the impact of change to the IT systems on the business as a whole.  You will collaborate with other iSolutions technical colleagues to develop the required testing policies, testing strategies and testing plans which match business needs.

We expect you to be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) and a relevant professional qualification e.g. ISEB/ISTQB Testing.  You will clearly demonstrate an ability to plan, organise and prioritise testing tasks in a dynamic working environment.

You will be contributing as senior member of the PMO Management Team to achieve our high quality standards while collaborating with the Project Managers’ team, the Business Analysts’ team and the IT Trainers’ team to achieve: delivery deadlines, valued business benefits and enhanced customer satisfaction.

iSolutions is one of the largest departments within the University’s Professional Services Group and provides all aspects of ICT to support all University activities.  This includes learning and teaching, research, and University administration; and supports a diverse user community of over 35,000 University staff and students.
