The University of Southampton has a global reputation for research and services that facilitate the availability and impact of publications and data. We are seeking an enthusiastic administrator to contribute to the Research Engagement Division of the Library, which encompasses a wide range of services including support for open access, research data management and appropriate use of metrics. This post will focus on use of the institutional repository (ePrints) and research management system (PURE) which describe over 100,000 research outputs, approximately 25% of which are open access.

You will be part of the Research Repository team and a key element of the role will be to edit and maintain accurate metadata for deposits, working with appropriate international standards to ensure interoperability of data. You will also support researchers; problem-solving and providing timely advice and support both in person and through a range of media. Working within an evolving policy environment you will be confident checking compliance against a range of requirements set by research funders, and in the use of Excel for reports and data analysis. Knowledge of the electronic publishing environment is highly desirable. Previous experience of work with ePrints and/or Pure and with the Research Excellence Framework would be useful but this is not essential.
