iSolutions is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative Systems Specialist to join their Technical Innovation and Developments Team to deliver complex and varied systems and services for its academic user community. Embedded within the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Engineering, you will be directly involved with research-led computing projects across all disciplines, deploying bespoke solutions to meet the complex demands of the academic community.

Qualified to degree level or with equivalent experience, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks. You will enjoy demonstrating resourcefulness, initiative and commitment to ownership of activities assigned to you and a demonstrated willingness to learn new techniques in this pioneering area of development. You will relish working to extremely high standards within a team of highly motivated individuals and be committed to achieving deadlines and customer satisfaction.

To be successful, you will need demonstrable skills in the following:

Linux and Windows systems administration.

Scripting in languages such as Bash, Perl and PowerShell or similar languages.

TCP/IP data networking.

Customer facing service delivery.

We would very much like to hear from candidates who additionally demonstrate skills/knowledge in some of the following:

Experience with other platforms such as OSX or Solaris.

Experience with electronics CAD software packages.

Database design and administration.

Web development.

Experience of working with agile software development methodologies.
