Applications are invited for a research position at the University of Southampton to work on developing a Point of Care diagnostic assay using digital microfluidics.   The project is a collaboration between the School of Electronics and Computer Science, Public Health England and Sharp Labs Europe.  The project involves the development of miniaturised DNA and immune-assays on a programmable digital microfluidic or electrowetting on dielectric (EWOD) chip. The candidate will have a PhD and experience in microfluidics, miniature diagnostic assays and/or Lab on Chip technologies.  The ability to independently conduct a challenging research activity within a complex research project is essential for this position.  The candidates will also have a demonstrable ability to take the initiative in publishing research.
