HTA Prioritisation
Part Time (0.8FTE), Fixed Term (1 Year) - (maternity leave cover)
The University of Southampton is home to NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) which manages evaluation research on behalf of the National Institute for Health Research.
The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) programme, one of the programmes managed by NETSCC, funds research on the effectiveness and cost effectiveness, costs and broader impact of healthcare treatments and tests for those who plan, provide or receive care in the NHS. NETSCC, HTA works with external advisory groups, consisting of both lay and clinical experts, to identify areas of genuine uncertainty where evidence is needed in order to commission research which addresses the priority needs of patients and the NHS.
There is a vacancy for a Programme Manager to provide an efficient, professional service to support the work of external advisory groups in the identification and development of important research questions for commissioning by the HTA programme. You will be working in a wider team with other Programme Managers, support staff, Researchers and Clinical Consultant Advisors who work with external advisory groups to meet targets for advertising research topics important to the NHS. The post is part time and available as a 12 month fixed term contract (maternity leave cover).
You will have a strong background in the management and/or administration of health research, with experience in a project administration or a management role. You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills, be IT literate and already have responsibility for managing discrete areas of work or projects. With excellent people management and communication skills, you will be capable of building and sustaining excellent working relationships with a range of people at all levels.
