Applications are invited for the post of IT Systems Team Manager in the RHUL Central IT Services Department.

Working within the Core Service Delivery team of IT Services, the post of IT Systems Manager is responsible for the management and performance of the Systems Administration Team within a busy and vibrant IT department, ensuring the delivery of a premier class 3rd line support service to students and staff at the university.  The team is responsible for both the operation and project focussed elements of systems administration supporting an Enterprise Infrastructure.

The successful candidate will show experience in managing a large operational estate of servers, storage and related systems infrastructure based in the areas of Windows, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V, and data backup technologies.  In addition the role holder is responsible for the Technical leadership of the team and setting the strategic direction of systems related services for the College.  Currently Royal Holloway uses a mixture of ‘on premise’ and cloud solutions and a successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to manage services in these types of environments.  The post also is also responsible for the operation and management of our 2 site-based data centres and is key in a number of major processes in the department, including incident management, change control, disaster recovery and resource planning and allocation.

As a Senior IT professional, you will have experience of providing strong user-focused services, experience of ITIL and management of a technical team.  You will have a clear understanding of the issues facing the Higher Education IT community, and have a keen interest in continuing to develop the role of IT services at all levels of the College. You will have strong leadership, communication, influencing and team work skills.

This is a full time permanent post, immediately available. This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
