Nuffield College in the University of Oxford recently announced a collaboration with FLAME University to start the Centre for Experimental Social Sciences (CESS) in Pune. CESS Nuffield - FLAME University seeks a qualified applicant for the position of Research Associate - Operations. This position is ideal for candidates interested in international development and/or in pursuing graduate work in the quantitative social sciences or for gaining some expertise in research experiments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Research Associate - Operations will work closely with the team at CESS Nuffield – FLAME University as well as with Principal Investigators from leading universities across the world to perform tasks including, but not limited, to:

Working with Directors to create and implement a strategy for getting students from Pune to participate in research studies and games.

Identifying colleges and building relationships with their administrators to use their premises for short research-related events.

Creating procedures for field operations and logistics.

Maintaining rigorous quality assurance procedures.

Implementing experiments and surveys (online, lab and field).

Maintaining confidential subject contact list.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, social sciences, or related fields.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to do fieldwork in both urban and rural contexts.

Fluency and excellent communication skills in both English and Hindi.

At least two years of relevant work experience.

Excellent organizational and management skills.

Flexible, mobile, self-motivated, and team-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

Fluency in Marathi.

Interest in being part of an international team.

Curiosity about social sciences.

Interest in academic research.

Note on Work Authorizations:

Candidates must have authorization to work in India. This comprises citizens of India, Nepal or Bhutan, and an Overseas Citizens of India (OCI).
