United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of M&E Associate in Mogadishu, Somalia. The duration of this post is 6 months.

The M&E Associate will support the M&E PM in fulfilling his responsibilities and be engaged in verifying the project deliverable and assessing the capability of achieving the benefits defined in the Business Case(s) to provide recommendations towards the achievement of the overall business targets and needs.

Key Jobs Responsibilities

The M&E Associate will perform the following functions-

Assist in the documentation of knowledge management practices for quality assurance and learning to continually improve.

Responsible for producing regular monitoring reports with a critical focus on the review of work packages and stage status to ensure that the projects stay on course.

Support the Project Manager (M&E) during project / program evaluation and baseline surveys.

Support Project Manager (M&E) to identify issues/risks that may impact the delivery of the business case (including issues of sustainability and post project requirements such as maintenance).

In coordination with the Project Manager (M&E) Promote the awareness and understanding of the shared responsibility of M&E function among all staff members through communication, training, learning and development activities organization-wide.

Assist Programme/Project team to develop performance indicators ensuring that the project fits within the overall programme strategy.

Assist the Project Manager (M&E) to develop tools and processes in line with organizational M&E system, including key documents such as log-frames, detailed implementation plans and work-plans as and when required.

Support the Project Manager (M&E) in quality control tests on all incoming data and supervise data entry and data cleaning/editing processes in coordination with IM unit.

Support the Project Manager (M&E) in compiling and disseminating key findings to the Programme/Project team and management for action.

Assist the Project Manager (M&E) in collecting/documenting case studies, success stories and sharing it with UNMAS HQ media section.

Assist the Project Manager (M&E) in developing a stakeholder satisfaction survey for the programme on regular basis and assist with the compilation and dissemination of findings.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have-

High school diploma or equivalent with 7 years of relevant experience is required or First level university degree in social sciences, planning development or related technical fields with 3 years experience in project/programme work and monitoring and evaluation with three years relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience.

At least 3 years progressive experience with M&E systems including experience working in the field.

Experience working with communities at grassroots level.

Familiarity with data management software (MS Access, MS Excel etc) desirable.

Knowledge of Project/Programme M&E.

Professional technical knowledge/expertise in methodology of M&E and Evaluation Processes, including theories, standards and models, quantitative/qualitative/mixed methods, validity/reliability testing of data, data analysis and interpretation, and statistical.

Experience working with humanitarian and development sector preferably with UN organizations in setting up M&E systems.

Knowledge of UNMAS operations will be desirable.
