The grade 5 students went to Jinja to get started on the PYP Exhibition. It was good, because there were so many teachers to help us with thinking about our ideas for the exhibition. We did a lot of teamwork activities and it was nice to be out of the classroom and be in a new environment. It had a lot of team building activities, we weren’t only with our friends so we got to know how to work with other people. It was similar to the learning at school, just in a new environment. We also got to play volleyball, football, swimming and trampolining. The view from the Haven was very relaxing and the food was delicious. Here are some reflections from a couple of students on the trip…
“It helped me narrow down my thoughts and the rule of sitting with different people stretched my understanding of Grade 5”
“The activities helped me understand my Unit more - sharing the space in the tent helped me collaborate with others.”
“It’s really going to help my exhibition because of the reflecting - now I know my group and my lines of Inquiry. I’m very appreciative of the adults who helped.”
“We did a lot of question setting about our PYPx issues and we also did reflections about who we work well with.”
