On March 8th, 2024, the International Office (IO) of Universitas Katolik Parahyangan (UNPAR) held its first International Students Meet Up for the Even Semester 2023/2024. This lively event welcomed international students from diverse backgrounds spanning continents such as Australia, Africa, South Korea, and Russia. Representing various academic programs including ACICIS, KNB, and Darmasiswa, these students converged at UNPAR for an evening of togetherness.
The event is named “Moonlit Mixer : The Gathering of the The Friendship Hunters”. As the name suggests, this event aims for participants to get to know each other and obtain new friends, where the main event is playing the werewolf game.
The Moonlit Mixer event opened with lunch, where it was served Javanese style fried chicken from Pringgodani, one of Vintage Restaurant in Bandung. After lunch, we went into the meet and greet session where we invited all the participants to make a group of a few people where they had to answer questions that we gave out. We played this a few times until they managed to talk among themselves comfortably.
Following the lunch session, the spotlight shifted to the main attraction of the day: the thrilling werewolf game. Every international student plays a unique role, with the werewolves striving to eliminate their fellow characters while the others endeavored to identify the deceitful werewolves lurking among them. At the end of each round, they had to discuss among them who the werewolves are with selected individuals stepping forward to persuade the group of their innocence. Ultimately, victory was claimed by the villagers, marking an exciting conclusion to the exhilarating game.
During the closing session, prizes were distributed to the victorious participants, adding an extra dose of excitement to the event. Furthermore, Vincent, a beloved member of our interns, took the opportunity to bid farewell as he celebrated his graduation from UNPAR with a heartfelt speech. Following this touching moment, the day drew to a close, brimming with laughter and cherished memories that will undoubtedly linger in our hearts for a long time to come.
