In accordance with the West Virginia Code Chapter 8A Article 3 Section 11, the City of Martinsburg is updating its Comprehensive Plan which establishes policies for community growth and development for the next 20 years.

Updating the Comprehensive Plan is a collaborative process projected to take a year for completion. Public participation is a key component of this effort.

Procedures for Public Input have been created to identify potential stakeholders, invite public participation, and guide efforts throughout the planning process to ensure early and continuous involvement in decision-making. Efforts to ensure public participation will continue to evolve throughout the life of the project.

The first Public Workshop hosted by the Martinsburg Planning Commission will be held at 6:30pm on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Holiday Inn, 301 Foxcroft Avenue, Martinsburg, WV 25401. Participants are encouraged to comment on the strengths and challenges faced by the City of Martinsburg, and to become a leading force in identifying our vision and goals.

Community participation is essential to well-informed comprehensive planning.

Please contact the City of Martinsburg Planning Department office at 304-264-2131, ext. 266 for further information.
