Fireworks. Barbecues. Parades. It’s time to celebrate America’s independence and almost every community across the metro Indianapolis area is ready to bring it. If you haven’t made plans for your family’s fireworks festivities, don’t worry – we’ve got a full roundup below of the where-to-find, the when-they’re-happening and the what-to-expect.

Central

Donatos Downtown Freedom Blast

July 4 at 6:30pm

Indiana War Memorial, downtown Indianapolis

The Donatos Downtown Freedom Blast Fireworks display is the largest in the state of Indiana on July 4th. The display is also one of the only in the world that still takes place from the top of a skyscraper. There will be TONS of events, including a zipline, bounce houses, showcases, live music, and more. Donatos Pizza will be standing by selling whole pizzas, by-the-slice, snacks and ice cold soda.

Party on the Plaza

July 4 from 7-11pm

Indianapolis City Market, downtown Indianapolis

Come celebrate the Fourth of July at Indianapolis City Market and bring the whole family!  Complete with corn hole, lawn checkers, sidewalk chalk and more, enjoy the Donatos Downtown Freedom Blast fireworks display from City Market’s Whistler (west) Plaza – some of the best seats downtown has to offer.

Independence Day Fireworks with the Indianapolis Indians

July 4

Location: Victory Field, downtown Indianapolis

Celebrate Independence Day with two spectacular Fireworks shows! The exciting pyrotechnics displays include a show from Downtown Indianapolis’ annual Freedom Blast, which is scheduled to start at 10pm, and the Indians’ own fireworks show, which is scheduled to launch between the conclusion of the evening’s game and the downtown Freedom Blast.

Fourth of July Ole!

July 4 from 3-11pm

St. Mary Catholic Church, 311 North New Jersey Street, Indianapolis

Boasting the BEST view of the Indianapolis Fireworks, this free festival has a bunch to offer!  There will be mouth watering American and Latino food, live music, kids activities, texas poker, an open air market, and more.

Fishers Freedom Festival Fireworks

June 25-26

Holland Memorial Park

Fishers brings the Fourth a little early with this three-day festival packed to the gills with fun. Kiddie runs, a children’s parade, food vendors, entertainment and competitions dot this weekend’s calendar of activities. Find the digital version of their festival guide here. Fireworks will be held on the 26th at 9:50pm.

Blast on the Bridge

July 4 from 6-10:30pm

Geist Reservoir

The bridge will close at 4pm and the celebration begins at 6pm. Be sure to stick around for fireworks at dusk, and the event will conclude as soon as fireworks end. July 4th from 6-10:30:pm.

Star Spangled Symphony

July 4 at 8pm

Conner Prairie Interactive History Park, Fishers

Bring a picnic and wear your red, white and blue to the ISO’s annual patriotic performance as we celebrate America and salute U.S. military service members. This summertime tradition features symphony favorites and a spectacular fireworks show at each concert. July 4th at 8pm.

Noblesville Fourth of July Festival

July 4 from 6-10pm

Noblesville High School

Parking as well as all of the games, activities, and entertainment are FREE! There will be lots of food vendors, which is the only part of the festival that costs money. Alcohol is not permitted as the festival is on school grounds.

Zionsville Lion Club Fourth of July

July 4 {rain date July 9}

Zionsville Lion Club

Join in for an All-American Celebration in Lions Park. This is the second largest fundraiser for Lions Park. Food, music and fun begin in the park at 5pm and are followed by the fireworks at dusk. Parking in Lions Park is for a $5 donation.

Carmel Fest

July 4

Carmel Civic Square, downtown Carmel

Let freedom ring at this family-friendly celebration of our country’s birth through entertainment, live music, a 5K run/walk, parade and kids zone. The spectacular Carmel Symphony will also perform on one of the 3 entertainment stages. This event ends with a spectacular fireworks display. July 4th – all day.

Westfield Rocks the Fourth

Grand Park

Westfield Rocks the 4th is the Parks Department’s biggest event of the year. And this year the 2016 event is moving to GRAND PARK!  As always, you can expect great food, fun activities for the kids and family, and plenty of local retailers, car show and live entertainment. This year, there will also be a brand new archery area, a safe and exciting activity for kids.

Lights Over Morse Lake

Community Park, Morse Lake

Join a 4-day festival dedicated to celebrating the freedom of The United States of America in small town Indiana. There will be carnival games, balloon glows, live music and more! FREE.

Whitestown 4th of July Celebration

July 3

Eagle Church, 5801 S Main Street

For the 3rd year in a row Eagle Church will be hosting the Whitestown Fireworks Festival! This year, expect inflatables, games, food, and fireworks.  Outside food and drink is permitted, and there will be vendors offering yummy eats.  The event is free, and parking becomes available at 7pm. Make sure to bring your own chairs, pillows, and blankets.

South

Greenwood Freedom Festival

June 25

Craig Park, Greenwood

Kick off the 4th early! This southside festival includes many events: a patriotic concert, street fair, car show, parades, and of course, fireworks!

Franklin Firecracker Festival

July 3 – fireworks take place at 10:10pm

Indiana Masonic Home Circle, Franklin

The Franklin Firecracker Festival is packed with family friendly activities that will keep a smile on everyone’s face.  Bounce Houses and Horse Wagon rides will be available until 9pm.  There will be a “Fastest Kid in Town” Race starting at 7pm for kids who want to put their speed skills to the test.  Families can jam out to the live entertainment from 7pm to 10pm.  The Family Parade, a cherished part of the Festival, will return this year due to popular demand.  Franklin invites you to decorate your bicycle, wagon or golf cart and take a stroll around the circle.

West

Fourth of July Extravaganza

June 29-July 4

Arbuckle Acres Park, Brownsburg

This six-day long event ends with a bang- a firework showcase! This Extravaganza is one of Brownsburg’s biggest annual events. There will be carnival rides, corn tents, and lots of delicious food provided by the Lions Kitchen. Finally, there will be a parade with over ten thousand participants to celebrate the independence of our nation.

East

New Palestine Chamber Fest

New Palestine High School

What fun! The New Palestine Chamber Fest Independence Day celebration looks like a great way to ring in the 4th a little early. There are concerts, corn hole tournaments, a kids zone and a car show, all topped off with a fireworks display at dusk. The fireworks are free but some events and activities may have a fee.

Lawrence 4th Fest

July 4

Lawrence Community Park

We aren’t seeing a ton of information about this annual 4th Fest in Lawrence, but there is an itinerary from a parade at 10am to a car show to a fish fry to the cap of the night – the fireworks at 10am! Find the best viewing spot on the North Soccer Fields.
