Quick Take
Paul & Joe Beaute is quite new for us – US makeup junkies. This brand is very unique. It is very popular in France and Japan and, thus they are designed uniquely. I have visited their counter in the upscale mall during my trip. It is not a drugstore or prestige beauty brand but more like premium to high-end brand for me (like Darphin or La Mer). I have tried a couple of their makeup items (before the advent calendar) and love the unique shades and formula they are offering. Their product design, how they think, the pigment and concept are genuinely awesome.
Lip essence is like a jelly texture (not sticky at all) that makes my lip look plumper a bit – very comfortable. The gold eye shadow is my favorite shade. It’s so beautiful. It’s almost matte with a hint of satin sheen in it. It added superb dimension to my eyes. I was thinking that the blush will be too deep tone for me but I was wrong. It give fresh looking and a healthy Parisian flush mixed with Sakura shade on my skin. The lipstick is a beautiful red with coral hint. The moisturizer primer is extreme lightweight just like famous milk essence that is popular in Asian makeup. It has heavy rose scent like Anna Sui foundation products. This advent calendar does not follow our trend (strobe or contouring) or Korean beauty trend (dewy skin or lip tint). I purchased this set when it was $95 (sign) but I’m absolutely happy with this purchase to discover something very exotic from this brand.
