Just when you thought biscuits couldn’t get any sweeter, Harriet Hastings went and created Biscuiteers. Beautifully decorated, personalised and delicious too, it’s the gift we’ve all been waiting for. After all, why send flowers when you can send biscuits instead?
Where did the idea for Biscuiteers come from?
The idea for Biscuiteers came on a weekend in New York with my husband. We were really inspired by the food gifting market over there and saw a real opportunity to set up a biscuit gift business online that was completely different from anything else in the UK market.
You’ve worked with some amazing people, what has been the most exciting project yet?
Last year we built an amazing gingerbread recreation of Waddesdon Manor which took 500 hours to create using 216kg of icing. The detail our icers achieved was extraordinary, right down to hand-iced artworks hanging in each room. It created a media storm, it appeared in The Guardian and The Times along with a piece on BBC News.
Whose idea was your mission statement: why send flowers when you can send biscuits instead?
This was a result of brainstorming with our brand team. It’s so integral to what we do as it defines Biscuiteers as a luxury gifting brand that can bring the happiness associated with giving and receiving a beautiful bunch of flowers
What’s the best thing anyone has said about your biscuits?
Claudia Winkleman recently said ‘If you don’t want to buy everything from their website then you and I need to have a chat. The biscuit wizards have my number” which I just love.
How do you relax and unwind?
In the week I love to read, and on the weekends we are usually in Suffolk and spend our time outside with the children.
