The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 22 July but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The link road from the M3 junction 2 southbound to the M25 clockwise will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Monday 25 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 anti-clockwise to junction 11 and return.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4 including junction 3 entry slip road and junction 4 exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 25 July for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and A331.

The northbound exit slip road at junction 3 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Tuesday 26 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 and A30.

The northbound entry slip road at junction 3 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Wednesday 27 July for 2 nights and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 29 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322 , A30 and M25.

M3 junction 5 Hook, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M3 continues this week. Lanes 1 and 2 of the southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 29 July. In addition, the southbound entry slip at junction 5 will be closed overnight during the same period. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 4a.

M3 junctions 6 to 7 Basingstoke, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M3 continues this week. Varied lane closures on both carriageways will be in place overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 25 July for 5 nights.

In addition, the southbound exit slip road at junction 7 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 27 July with a clearly signed diversion in place via junction 9. The northbound exit slip road at junction 6 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 28 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 5.

M3 junction 13 Eastleigh, Hampshire: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M3 continues this week. Lanes 1 and 2 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 28 July. In addition, the northbound entry slip road at junction 13 will be closed overnight during the same period. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the Chilworth roundabout.

M3 junction 14 Chilworth, Hampshire: street lighting

Work to improve journeys by maintaining the lighting along the M3 starts this week. The northbound link from the Chilworth roundabout to the M3 northbound carriageway at junction 13 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 29 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27 Bassett Green Road to M27 junction 5, then north up the M3 link road.

M4 junctions 5 Slough to 7 Maidenhead, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey

Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage and verge surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the autumn (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 11 Reading / Wokingham, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey

M4 junctions 12 Reading to 13 Chieveley, West Berkshire: bridge survey

Work to improve journeys by carrying out structural surveys along the M4 continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 25 July for 4 nights.

M27 junction 3 Southampton, Hampshire: bridge closure

Work to maintain safety by diverting utility cables as part of a scheme to replace the A3057 Romsey Road bridge continues this week. Narrow lane running will be in place on the bridge during both day and night time hours until Wednesday 31 August.

M27 junctions 10 Wickham to 11 Fareham, Hampshire, Surrey: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M27 continues this week. Lanes 1 and 2 of the westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 25 July for 2 nights. In addition, the westbound exit slip road at junction 10 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 25 July and the westbound exit slip road at junction 11 will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 26 July.

Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next junction.

M27 junction 12 Portsmouth, Hampshire, Surrey: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the M27 continues this week. Lanes 1 and 2 of the eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Wednesday 27 July. In addition the east and westbound exit slip roads at junction 12 will be closed overnight during the same period. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the next junction.

A3 Petersfield, Hampshire, Surrey: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the A3 continues this week. The southbound carriageway from the A272 Midhurst junction to the Weston Interchange will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 29 July.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B2070.

A3 Longmoor, Hampshire to Guildford, Surrey: road marking

Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the A3 continues this week. The southbound carriageway from the A31 Hogs Back to Longmoor will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 25 July for 4 nights.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A31 and A325.

A34 Whitchurch, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of the northbound carriageway near Whitchurch starts this week. The A34 northbound carriageway from Bullington Cross (A303) to Highclere Common will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 26 July for 3 weeks (Monday to Friday only).

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A303, A3093 and A343.

A34 Highclere, Hampshire to Newbury, West Berkshire: drainage

Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance along the A34 continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on the northbound carriageway overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 27 July for 8 nights (Monday to Friday only).

A34 Beedon, West Berkshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of the northbound carriageway between Beedon and East Ilsley completes this week. The northbound carriageway between the M4 junction 13 roundabout at Chieveley and East Ilsley will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 25 July.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Hungerford and Wantage, re-joining the A34 at the Milton Interchange. Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes will be diverted via M4 junction 8/9, the A404 and M40.

In addition, the Beedon northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Tuesday 26 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M4 junction 13 roundabout.
