Catechism Series Begins Today! Today we begin a new 6-week message series during worship, on the 6 chief parts of Luther’s Small Catechism. We will be learning what the 6 chief parts are and how they apply to our daily lives. We want to encourage you to bring your catechism to worship on the 18th. If you do not own a catechism, you can buy one at the table in the Narthex. The books are $20.00 each; we will have them available for purchase after 8 am service and before and after 10:30 service.

Join us for this 6-week course to connect what we believe with what you do. PICKLEBALL has been going strong since we started mid-June! We usually have an average of 6 women in the fellowship hall for a fun time and some exercise. We have all gotten much better and have had some serious volleying going across the net! There is a wide variety of skill levels as some have never played any racquet sports and some are very skilled tennis players—and we all have adapted to pickleball very nicely.

Here is a little background information on pickleball in case your curiosity has been piqued:

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis, with a few modifications. Pickleball was invented in the mid-1960’s as a children’s backyard pastime but quickly became popular among adults as a fun game for players of all levels. For more information, you can go to: wikipedia.org/wiki/Pickleball

Come join us on a Tuesday evening for some Christian fellowship and fun. We have all made new friends of each other, which could be the best part of playing!! If you are interested, please contact Maureen Puricelli – cell-908-692-6005.
