Here at GovLoop, our goal is simple: connect government to improve government. In order to do that, we need awesome, hard-working fellows to help us out!

We’re hiring our next cohort of undergraduate or recently graduated students for our fall fellowship program. This is a full time, four month (August 22 – December 23), paid internship in Downtown D.C. We are accepting applications until July 22nd. GovLoop serves a community of more than 250,000 Federal, State, and Local Government Leaders by helping them to foster collaboration, learn from each other, solve problems, and advance in their government careers. Throughout GovLoop’s history, more than 80 fellows have worked as integral contributors to core projects including research reports, online and in-person training events, digital marketing campaigns, video animation, web and graphic design, and much more. Past fellows have gone on to jobs at the State Department, National Geographic, and Deloitte among others.

What You Get To Do:

Write and edit research reports, blog posts, and other GovLoop written products

Conduct interviews, research and analysis on the latest government topics

Attend government-related events in DC and capture content ideas

Recruit, identify, and interview expert thought leaders in government

What We Need In You:

Strong writing and editing skills

Ability to conduct quick research and synthesize it into compelling summary content

Interest in the public sector

Dynamic go-getter who can handle a range of tasks and juggle multiple projects at the same time

Design and Multimedia Fellow: Apply here

What You Get To Do:

Assist in the layout and design of GovLoop written products

Assist our event and marketing departments in designing collateral for events, including posters, icons, web banners, etc

Image researching, illustration, and designing marketing materials and collateral for print and the web (design items like new t-shirts, business cards, powerpoints, flyers, etc.)

Design and develop new web landing pages

Plan, produce, and edit instructional design videos that will be used in a range of capacities from on-demand courses to promotional videos

What We Need In You:

Preferred degree in graphic/web design, audio/film production, computer science or marketing, but will consider other degrees with relevant experience

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)

Experience with FinalCutProX and/or Adobe Premiere

Experience conducting and editing audio (i.e. radio interviews or vocal)

Experience working with HTML, CSS, and/or Javascript also a plus, as well as experience with designing for WordPress or other CMS platforms

What You Get To Do:

Assist with the panning, coordination, and implementation of in-person and online events

Create post-event ROI metrics reports for sponsors

Develop slide decks, surveys, and other digital training materials

Work closely with Salesforce, Eolqua, ON24, and additional sales forecasting and event management software

Support the Events Director in day-to-day operations

What We Need In You:

Dynamic go-getter who can handle a range of tasks and is comfortable

Strong communication and writing skills

Past customer service experience preferred

Past event planning or marketing experience preferred

Desire to learn more about the planning and execution of events

What You Get To Do:

Grow social media communities and track engagement

Help with marketing efforts and execution of in-person and online events and written products

Analyze the effectiveness of email and social media campaigns

Develop daily email newsletters, including the review and selection of content

Work closely with tools such as Eloqua, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, and more

Work closely with the team lead on audience acquisition strategies including public relations and outreach

What We Need In You:

Strong writing and organizational skills

Experience with email marketing

Previous experience with a marketing automation plat form preferred

Active social media user

Ability to conduct quick research and synthesize it into compelling summary

Ability to work quickly and handle a wide range of tasks
