The Birthday Honours list published on Friday 10 June 2016 recognises over 100 people for their service to education, children’s services and those who have made a difference to equality and diversity. The list includes headteachers and school teachers, school governors, foster carers, children’s social workers, and people working in adoption and in early years settings.
Jonathan Slater, Department for Education Permanent Secretary, said:
Congratulations to the award winners in The Queen’s Birthday Honours list. Their outstanding contributions are improving the lives of children and young people through excellent care and education, and promoting LGBT and women’s equality as well as diversity more widely.
If you know someone working in education or children’s services or making a significant impact in advancing equality for women and the LGB&T community who deserves an honour, please contact us at: Honours.team@education.gsi.gov.uk.
