Calling for an appointment to a cosmetic laser center can be intimidating, and we understand that. Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions by our patients. We hope that this will give you a better idea of how our Laser Center operates and put your mind at ease. If you do not find the answers to your questions in this blog, you are more than welcome to call and we will be happy to answer any additional questions that you may have.

Q: What types of lasers does your center operate?

A: There is no easy answer to this question. We have many different lasers here and several of them treat more than one condition. It is helpful to know exactly what condition(s) you are looking to treat and then we can tell you which lasers are most likely to be used to treat you.

Q: Does your Laser Center accept medical insurance for services?

A: Typically the answer to this question is no. The majority of our treatments are considered cosmetic. For this reason, insurance companies will not reimburse for those services. However, there are a few skin conditions and situations where insurance will pay. If this is the case, we will direct you to be seen by Dr. Gold first in the dermatology clinic and he will point you in the best direction for your care, which could be treatment by one of our lasers or energy-based devices.

Q: What is the cost for your laser procedures?

A: Without a consultation, this a difficult question to answer. The prices vary depending on the condition of the skin, the size of the area, and the device used for treatment. During a consultation with one of our providers, these parameters are discussed and a price is quoted at that time. In some cases and on some treatments, we are able to tell price because it does not change from patient to patient. The best solution would be to contact the office and ask our front desk. We are happy to point you in the right direction.

Q: Are your lasers operated by the physician?

A: In The Laser & Rejuvenation Center, we have Lindsey Baker, RN, BSN and Laser Manager; she performs the injections (toxins and fillers) for our clinic and operates the devices as well. We also have Suzanne Craven who is a Physician Assistant. She performs the same treatments as Lindsey. In addition to Lindsey and Suzanne, we have Sherri Street, a Licensed Electrologist who performs laser hair removal, electrolysis, and acne treatments. She has been with the practice for 24 years and was involved in the research studies in her area of expertise. Last but not least, we have Ashley Mosakowski, Licensed Aesthetician and Medical Assistant. She performs laser hair removal as well and operates the devices used for fat reduction and skin tightening. Dr. Gold, our dermatologist, sees his patient in the clinic at Gold Skin Care Center. However, if you are seen in the Laser Center and there is a concern or need for Dr. Gold, we can easily call him over to talk during your consultation.

Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: We are here Mondays through Thursdays from 8 am to noon and 1 to 5 pm, and Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm. You are welcome to call anytime to make an appointment or ask questions. We can be reached at 615-383-8812. There is a voicemail system in place and we check it regularly throughout the day. We will typically get back with you within a few hours.

Q: What are your current specials?

A: We are happy to discuss the specials with anyone who contacts the office. It is helpful to keep in mind that generally, we do not know what the next month’s specials will be until a week or so before the start of that month. The best way to keep in the loop about upcoming specials and events is to join our email list (see below) so you can be the first to know what is happening in the Laser Center.
