By diving deep into financial records, with data supplied from OpenSecrets.org, GOBankingRates.com determined the richest politicians in each state. Their average net worths range from a few million dollars to a little under half a billion dollars.

50. Hawaii: Sen. Mazie K. Hirono

Mazie K. Hirono net worth: $2,704,518

Party affiliation: Democrat

In 2006, Hawaii voters elected Sen. Hirono to represent the 2nd Congressional District. She was sworn in as senator on Jan. 3, 2013.

With her public interest background, it isn’t too surprising that Hirono is part of a growing group of congressmen and congresswomen who are pushing the government to investigate Wells Fargo. Why?
