The purpose and goals of the Unified Development Code Advisory Committee shall be:
To review proposed or requested amendments to the Unified Development Code (the UDC) other than executive amendments which are those amendments that are nondiscretionary, mandatory, or legislative revisions necessary to address state statutes or case laws, ratify published director interpretations, incorporate recentlyly approved Council ordinances, process City Council designated emergency items, or address revisions otherwise determined necessary by legal counsel;
To make recommendations and advise the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council on the proposed amendments to the UDC;
To provide an additional forum for public participation and input regarding proposed amendments to the UDC; and
To assist the general public in understanding the proposed amendments to the UDC.

Event Details
The Planning and Zoning Commission is an appointed seven member body assigned the task of reviewing various types of development related applications and providing recommendations on such to the Georgetown City Council. These applications cover topics such as future land uses planned for the City, zoning of properties to determine current land uses and development standards, the subdivision of properties and many more. The Commission utilizes several documents to make decisions, including the Unified Development Code (UDC) and the Comprehensive Plan (2030 Plan), so extensive use and knowledge of these documents can be expected. For this reason, the Commission is also granted up to three members in training for anyone interested in becoming part of the group but wanting to learn more about the Commission and its responsibilities. Event Details
The Main Street Advisory Board assists the Main Street Manager in a number of ways, including expanding the interest base and support group and fund raising for the Main Street Program or special projects through the Main Street Program. This board identifies and utilizes local, state, federal and private sources including grants and contributions. The Board will make recommendations to the Main Street Program policy, developing a strategic plan and setting goals of the Main Street Program. The Board will administer the monies from the Main Street Façade Fund and report to the City Council on its programs on a timely basis.
