I am self-publishing with a company called Balboa Press. The reason I chose to work with this company is because they will offer me the best support moving forward in the alternative health industry that I can find and hope for at this time.
Balboa Press is associated with the publishing company Hay House, many of you may have heard of.
Why am I self publishing and not just getting published through Hay House? Honestly, I wanted to keep full control of what and how I said all I wanted to share in this book and also because I didn't want to take advance from the company for my book. I didn't want any pressure around this book. I wanted the feeling to be free and flowing. Most of the time when one signs on with a publisher they are expected to sell a certain amount of copies of their book, do a book signing tour, etc.. Being a single mom with a full scheduled career 
is my main priority . People think that if you get signed on with a company they do a ton of PR for you and this just isn't how it works.
It feels right and its the right thing for me to self publish with this company, I know that from the bottom of my Heart.
How much does it cost to self publish? With this company- it is about $5200.00 to cover all that I need, along with about $1000 to $1500 for art work / cover design . So this is basically the minimum that I am needing to raise to get the book created and published . It totals about $6500/$7000.will be thrilled to get this amount because it means I am published. Once we hit that number, I will update you with the specs on why I am raising more. This first $6500 doesn't cover the cost of website design for the book, press kit / book signing kits , PR help to support getting me on the radio and tv, copies of the book, to say the least. Just the bare bones of publishing and a bit of online coverage- that's the first big huge goal!!! We got this!!! With your help!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Keep the questions coming!
