Born out of the August Exodus - A Jaunt to Jaques expedition of July/August 3302, The CCN Discord communication hub is a place for those dedicated to working in and around the Colonia Nebula, helping to establish and protect the first human colony beyond frontier borders. It is hoped that this communication hub will help bring together the fledgling community and encourage CG cooperation, joint ventures, projects, provide entertainment, and be a great source of information on all developing colonial affairs.

If you have an interest in the colony and are thinking of setting up home there, the CCN is the ideal place to meet like-minded players.

The CCN is not a group or faction.

It is not affiliated with any political entity or existing power-bloc.

It is a community that has representatives from many different groups who can provide support and coordination of player run colonial events. But primarily it is a collection of individuals all coming together for one common cause - to help create a colonial identity and give the colony initiative the community foundation it deserves.

One of the premises behind the CCN is to recapture the community spirit that was born during Distant Worlds, along with some of the best ideas that DW produced, and rekindle them within the CCN. Thus the colony will have a weekly newspaper/newsletter, a dedicated radio station, an events coordination team that will organise weekly competitions (like SRV rallies, Canyon Races, Destruction Derbies etc), regular livestreams of colonial life, as well as all the dedicated channels and channel hosts that are there to help the colony and its community grow and expand over time.

Unlike Distant Worlds, the CCN does not have an end date. As long as players use it and find it beneficial to their colonial life, it will always be online and available to enjoy and be a part of.

Come join the hundreds of other commanders that are already moving out there, and become part of a unique community, 22,000 light years from the old worlds....

Job Opportunities

We are looking for:

- a CCN admin to help managing the Discord server (and only that) and ensure that it remains a nice place to hang around.

- an XBox player to help with event/operation coordination on the XBox-side of Jaques.

- an Australian TimeZone player to coordinate events on the UTC+12 side of Earth.

- a Livestreamer to... well, live stream events!

- a few assistant positions as well; check Mosta's thread for Event Team jobs.

If you're interested, ping or PM the Custodians on the server, they'll get back to you shortly. Don't apply if you're not ready/able to commit.

CCN Weekly Events

As the community is growing fast (620+ members as I'm writing), we have more opportunities to run CCN events. Starting now, there will be two weekly events, one for fun organized by Mosta and his team (all info here) on SATURDAYS, the other one for military practice, run by Souvarine and the Militia leaders (all info here) on SUNDAYS. Feel free to take part or help organizing, and be sure to keep an eye on the threads as a handful of events are already scheduled for the coming weeks.

In-Game Private Group

The CCN official private in-game group is called FleetComm. If you would like to join the FleetComm PG, please contact CMDR Grnbrg, or apply via the FleetComm Discord server here:

The Outlander Challenge

For those who are thinking of buying a second account, or already have one and want a new challenge, the Colonia Citizens Network is tasking players to take on the Outlander Challenge.

The premise is that a brand new character is created in the bubble.

Starting out with just your Sidewinder, your immediate goal is to earn enough credits to fit a good FSD and Scoop to it as soon as possible - then leave the bubble behind and head to the Colonia Nebula, where a new life awaits. Visit the thread here: The Outlander Challenge.

The Colonia Militia Forces

On Monday 22nd August, the Colonia Citizens Network (CCN) was launched to provide a structure for the Colonial society. The CCN numbers almost 550 colonists, with more joining every day. CCN is a network of groups active in the Colonia Nebula. As such it is diplomatically neutral and endorses no political agenda. Two militias have already pledged their support and have joined the Colony’s own security team to create a joint task force of different military groups coordinating over security and defence of the Colony.

CCN has called for all other military groups planning on establishing a presence in the Colonia Nebula to join the Colonia Militia Forces.

The Colonia Nebula Project

With the establishment of a colony around Jaques station, over twenty-thousand light years from populated space, humans will once again demonstrate how little is beyond our reach. As more and more people inevitably make the grand journey across deep space in search of a new life, they will rely upon those who have gone before them to illuminate the risks and opportunities of this new world.

The Colonia Citizen Network is proud to begin the daunting task of charting this strange new region of space properly, so that, as new infrastructure is developed, we know the most suitable places to build and to colonise.

It is our hope that these efforts lay the foundation for a new bubble, a peaceful, stable place where people can come together, away from politics and war, to build a brighter future for us all.

The Colonia Gazette

The Colonia Gazette was conceived in the early days of the colony efforts as a way to keep pilots living and working in the area abreast of local events. It is the Colony's own newspaper, run by colonists for colonists. It runs regular features on exploration, the Colonia Nebula mapping efforts, interviews, science and current affairs.

CCN Achievement Badges

Designed to reward players for fun activities in-game that benefit the Colony, the badges cover a wide range of areas and gameplay styles. They can be displayed on forum signatures, Discord avatars or any other format colonists wish.

Some are linked to specific challenges, whereas others are tiered and reward continued activity that helps develop the Colony (for example, mining certain quantities of minerals).

It is hoped that the badges will reward and recognise contributions to Colonial life, and provide a way for citizens to display their achievements.

The Jaques Station Monument

All of you who went and got materials in the hopes of contributing ought to be remembered, because you answered the call when Jaques Station needed you. You didn't do it for monetary rewards, you did it because you had a vision for what Jaques Station could be. That kind of Idealism is at the very core of what it is to be an explorer and you ought to be remembered for pitching in during the Jaques Trade Community Goal.

Add your CMDR name to the Monument.
