I am programming an Si1000 compatible board from HopeRF Demo board with the Silab USB debug adaptor and with the HopeRF debug adaptor The debug adapters keep failing after some hours of use – (message says unable to connect.) I have had 4 now fail (two of the Silabs and two of the HopeRF adaptors). I have followed the silabs user guide. Some points I have noticed: 1) In order to allow the code to execute after downloading, I need to disconnect (using the IDE button); is this usual? 2 After connecting (when the adapters were working) both leds stay on when connected. Both go off when I disconnect in order to allow the target code to execute.
The symptom is the same each time when the adapter fails: Only the power led comes on and not the run/stop led and no connection can be made. I have also tried the flash utility program. I am using two demo kits (tx and rx between kits), so that I have had to plug/unplug the usb cable to program alternate kits. I have each time switched off the target board, then removed the USB connection before removing the 10 pin header from the target. Can I use the flash utility with two debug adapters connected to the PC at once? This may prevent a need to transfer usb connections each time, which I am hoping will solve the problem. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks
