Firstly, how much of a performance impact do Adblock filters have? I read you shouldn't use too many of them, but I can't imagine (or measure) how much of an effect there might be.
What I've been using for a long time is more or less:
EasyList
EasyPrivacy
Fanboy's Annoyance List
Anti-Facebook Filters (
https://www.fanboy.co.nz/
)
and
https://facebook.adblockplus.me/
https://youtube.adblockplus.me/
It sucks there is no unified filter for Facebook, but what can you do. All of the three filters remove certain crap from FB, and since I really do hate the site, I'm using them.
I've started thinking about EasyPrivacy though. Do I really need it? What kind of tracking does it block? I've never gave it many thoughts and simply installed, thinking "it just removes "spying", so I absolutely need it". But... do I really? We're most probably being tracked by other and more serious ways in this time and age, so what do I care if someone sees anonymous statistics that my IP address visited this or that site?
So anyway, can anyone give me a brief explanation of this particular list?
