I avoid the Google mail banner warning by doing what was suggested by martywd at the bottom of that topic.

This is a new "string" preference setting so you have to create it yourself ...

...In the event you're not familiar with this here are the steps to follow:
1) Type "about:config" (without quotes) into the Pale Moon browser URL address bar and press return.
2) Press the "I promise to be careful!" Button to access Preferences.
3) Right-Click anywhere you see preference settings and from the context menu select "New" > "String".
4) Enter "general.useragent.override.mail.google.com" (without quotes) as the "preference name" (New String value).
5) Press "OK"
6) Enter "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.9) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/2.0 Firefox/38.9 PaleMoon/26.0" (without quotes) as the "String Value".
7) Press "OK"

New string for the new version:

Code:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Goanna/3.0 Firefox/38.9 PaleMoon/27.0

This has been working to get rid of the pesky "unsupported browser" message for me.
