I've seen that our /lib/wifi/mac80211.sh in trunk doesn't support using iw to enable the static wds feature of the driver.

When I've got my head around all things WDS I'll be collaberatively making a WDS FAQ for the wiki.

It's my understanding that WEP is running on a link going to put intel wifi chipsets into 802.11bg mode. Is the same true for static WDS, because dynnamic WDS is mandated by the 802.11n ieee specs?

Is it not fully compatible with full speed 802.11n, and is indeed lazy wds mandated over static wds by 802.11n?

As far as encryptiong goes, does static wds lock you down to WEP or insecure on atheros chipsets?

Also Lazy WDS doesn't play nice with mesh networks. OLPC has some interesting docs and reconmendations about it. That's why I was asking.

Most of the stock router fimwares either do static WDS. I'm trying to get openwrt play nice with whatever else is out there in my apartment complex (going to outdoor wifi).

Cheers.
