Vintage Chinese 1970s carved AA grade tigereye shou eternity symbol beads, Bali 24K gold vermeil beads, Bali 24K handmade french ear wires

Two exquisite 16mm AA grade golden amber tigereye beads have been ornately hand carved with the Chinese eternity or shou symbol. The workmanship is meticulous as were all beads being exported from China during the 1970s-1980s. My husband and I traveled to Hong Kong during this time period, scouting out unusual luxury carved beads for the designs I was creating for the Sackler Gallery here in Washington, D.C. ( the Smithsonian's Asian art museum )

◉ All the stone beads that I use in all my designs were purchased by me in Asia during the 1970s -1980s when the workmanship to create these beads was meticulous. All the beads are perfectly round, drilled all the way through, and with a lovely even polish. Nowadays, stone beads are being cut and exported from India where the quality is nowhere near what was exported from Asia during the 1970s-1980s.

These carved tigereye beads are approximately 5/8" across and have 14K gold bead caps separating them from the gorgeous Bali handmade gold vermeil beads which are 8mm. The detail on these Bali gold beads is high relief and stunning.

◉ Vermeil is the name for sterling silver beads which have 24K gold plating that is at least 2.5 microns thick. Granulation is an ancient jewelry technique where tiny granules of precious metal are individually affixed to a surface of the same metal.

These beaded dangles hang from handmade Bali 24K gold vermeil french ear wires.

Total length of these earrings is approximately 1 3/4 " ( the beaded part is approximately 1" in length )

They will arrive gift wrapped in a little box tied with a pretty ribbon all ready for gift giving.
