Not all art hangs on walls. Some lives for just a few moments before you put your lips to a cup. Case in point: Blip Roasters (1101 Mulberry St.) is hosting a Paper Cup Throwdown — a latte-art competition. The doors open tonight at 6:30 p.m., and the competition starts pouring at 7:30 p.m.

Take a walk on the wine side. Vox Vineyards (19310 NW Farley Hampton Road) is hosting a Taste & Tour event from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. They use American heritage grapes — a unique approach similar to resurrecting an heirloom tomato. Tickets are $20, which include the tour and a sampling of five wines.

Sometimes you just need a hot dog. Find out what wine you should be sipping alongside it with a Junk Food & Wine Pairing event at KC Wine Co. (13875 Gardner Road, Olathe, Kansas) on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. daily.

Gardeners Connect is hosting a talk by Jim Locklear of Omaha’s Botanical Center, entitled, “Jewels of the Plains Revived.” Locklear will discuss the native plants of the Great Plains and conservation efforts. The free program is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center (4750 Troost Ave.)

Feel like a beer this weekend? Check out #TapList, our weekly beer calendar, that launched on Valentine’s Day. You can opt for beer donuts (see below), or Border Brewing Company celebrates its second anniversary with a mint chocolate milk stout.

Unforked has opened in Crown Center. It’s the second location for the fast casual spot that serves burgers, tacos (the Barking Pig is carnitas and the Crispy Avocado is a tempura-fried avocado) and Sheridan’s Frozen Custard. Get the fries — they’re hand-cut, crispy and salty.

Bacon and Bourbon is the adult peanut butter and jelly. The second annual Bourbon & Bacon Fest, hosted by 99.7 The Point, is at Knuckleheads Garage (2715 Rochester Ave.) on Saturday. There are two sessions for the tasting event. The first is from 1:30 to 4 p.m., and the second is from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $30-50.
