February 2017 is shaping up to be a sweet month with tons of events in Los Angeles County from Cookie Con and Anti-Valentines Parties to beer festivals and Long Beach Restaurant Week. Los Angeles A Cappella Festival

The LAAF is a non-profit music festival produced by The Contemporary A Cappella Society that gathers people from all over the world to celebrate, appreciate and advance vocal music as an art form. Yep, real life Pitch Perfect. Held in Calabasas, the weekend long festival will feature top high school and collegiate groups going head-to-head in a 3-round performance format. LAAF is the perfect family event and an incredible weekend of live, a cappella music.

Annual Belmont Shore Chocolate Festival

The 13th Annual Belmont Shore Chocolate Festival will bring together 25 different restaurants for one sweet day of fun. There will be chocolate tastings from 1-3PM, and the Hof’s Hut Chocolate Pie Eating Contest from 3-4PM. There will also be a homemade chocolate dessert content from 12-1PM with winners in three different categories: chocolate cakes and pies, chocolate cookies and brownies, and unique chocolate treats.

Otter Bowl III

The big game is more fun with Otters. Come see the playful sea otters at the Aquarium of the Pacific vie for the title of champion as they play ball in their exhibit. Get up close to more than 11,000 animals, and see the otters in action for only $14.95 entrance fee when you come after 2PM. You can also head over to the Northern Pacific Gallery on the second floor to watch the big game with the otters at 2:15PM.

Annual La Bachata Festival

The La Bachata Festival includes nightly themed parties and performances, beginner boot camps so you can learn the moves, dancing till 5AM, and over 80 workshops, dozens of performances. Check out the site for all the different types of passes and tickets available for the event. It will be Valentine’s weekend and for the first time, this year’s festival will include a speed-dating workshop.

Clean Slate: Pre-Valentine’s Party

LA Chinatown Firecracker Run

Celebrate the Year of the Rooster with a run/walk amp; bike ride in historic LA Chinatown. Saturday will be the bike ride and Sunday will be the run/walk. The Firecracker Bike Ride will offer cyclists the choice of a 20 mile or a 30+ mile route. Sunday will include a 5K run/walk, 10K run/walk and a short Kiddie Run. The Firecracker is an all-volunteer organized event. All net profit is reinvested in the local community.

Broken Hearts Circus at Angel City Brewery

Your favorite Downtown LA Brewery will be hosting a festival for the broken hearted The day of fun will feature music and performances all day from clown comedians to acrobats and dancers. Air + Style

Shaun Whites Air + Style originated 21 years ago in Innsbruck, Austria as a snowboarding competition and has since grown to Beijing and now Los Angeles which will also include a skiing competition.
