NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 20, 2014) – Tennessee native and veteran bank executive Jeanie Rittenberry has been named senior vice president and director of marketing at FirstBank. She will be responsible for marketing, training and communications at the $2.3 billion bank.

Rittenberry, previously senior vice president and director of marketing and client services for Memphis-based National Commerce Bank Services (NCBS), will head up FirstBank’s advertising, public relations, branding and social media campaigns, events and sponsorships, and internal communications. She will also lead FirstBank’s training, professional growth and leadership development programs.

The hire reunites Rittenberry and FirstBank President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Holmes, who worked together at National Commerce and SunTrust in Memphis after the two banking institutions merged in 2004.

“Jeanie Rittenberry is a consummate professional who has the background and experience to help FirstBank grow across the state, both in our more established community markets as well as in our metro markets,” Holmes said. “In her role at NCBS, she worked with small community banks as well as Top 10 banks across the United States, and she has hands-on experience in both commercial and retail banking. I’m looking forward to working with her again and to her contributions to our management team.”

Prior to her most recent position, Rittenberry was a group vice president and director of sales, marketing and client services at NCBS. From 2004 to 2006, she was an assistant vice president and regional sales and marketing specialist for SunTrust in Memphis. She began her banking career at NCBS.

“My overall goal is to strengthen the brand of FirstBank as a trusted leader dedicated to the communities we serve,” Rittenberry said. “FirstBank’s growth has been phenomenal, and I am really excited to have the opportunity to work with such a great team.”

She is a graduate of the University of Memphis and the Barret Graduate School of Banking. While in Memphis, Rittenberry served on the boards of the SunTrust Foundation of Memphis, the SunTrust Memphis Diversity Council, and the Bartlett Performing Arts and Conference Center.

Rittenbery lives in Brentwood with her husband and two children.
