MOUNT VERNON DISTRICT STATION
BURGLARY: 8000 block of Karl Road, 10/21/16 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. An investigation determined someone entered through an unlocked door. Property from inside was reported missing. Also, a 2003 Acura CL parked at the home was reported missing.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 8600 block of Richmond Highway (7-11), 10/24/16, around 3:18 a.m. Two men entered a convenience store; one suspect displayed a handgun and demanded cash. Both suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money in a four-door black sedan. Officers checking the area located the vehicle and attempted to stop it. A traffic pursuit was initiated and traveled into another jurisdiction. The vehicle was located abandoned in Washington, D.C. The investigation continues. No one required medical attention.

MASON DISTRICT STATION
BURGLARY: 7600 block of Little River Turnpike, 10/21/16 between 2 and 2:35 a.m. An investigation determined the Joong Mi Korean Chinese Cuisine was burglarized and cash was reported missing.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 7400 block of Little River Turnpike (Safeway), 10/21/16, around 7:25 p.m. Police responded for a report of a man who entered the business, approached an employee at a register, and took cash. The suspect assaulted another employee as he fled. Neither victim required medical attention. He was described as white, 40 to 45 years old, about 6 feet tall, and wearing a black jacket and pants.
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY: 5700 block of Seminary Road (Shell Station), 10/21/16, around 8:25 a.m. Two men entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash from an employee. The victim did not require medical attention and the suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money. They were described as black, about 30 to 35 years old. One suspect was about 5 feet 8 inches tall and heavy set, with a beard. He wore a blue shirt and pants. The other was clean-shaven, with short hair, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, with a thin build and was wearing a white T-shirt.
EMOTIONALLY DISTURBED PERSON: 7400 block of Eastmoreland Road, 10/23/16 around 8:30 a.m. Officers responded to a report of someone inside an apartment shouting erratically and hitting the walls. Their investigation determined a 43-year-old man appeared to be experiencing a mental crisis. He was holding a large knife and striking the walls and floors. An officer was able to talk to the man through a neighbor’s balcony and convinced him to exit the home. The man complied and was transported to a mental health facility for evaluation and care. He had not suffered any injury while inside his home.
DRUNK IN PUBLIC/ASSAULT ON LAW ENFORCEMENT/ARREST: 5800 block of Columbia Pike, 10/23/16, around 1:42 a.m. Police responded for a report of a teenaged boy acting drunk and disorderly. When officers attempted to take him into custody, the suspect resisted and spit on an officer. He was transported to the juvenile detention center, pending further charges.

RESTON DISTRICT STATION
ROBBERY: Thomas Jefferson Way/McNair Farms Drive, 10/21/16, around 8:06 p.m. A 30-year-old woman was walking along a roadway when a man approached her from behind and attempted to take her purse. They struggled briefly but the suspect fled with her purse. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspect was described as black, around 30 years old, wearing blue jeans, a long-sleeved black shirt, and a black knit cap.

FRANCONIA DISTRICT STATION
ASSAULT ON A FAMILY MEMBER/BRANDISHING A FIREARM/ARREST: 6400 block of Gildar Street, 10/23/16 around 8:47 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a man who got into an argument with a family member, a 33-year-old woman, and chased her around the home with a gun. Another family member, a 60-year-old woman, attempted to stop him but he pushed her and continued to chase the other victim. When officers arrived, the family was standing outside arguing. The suspect retreated into the home; officers gave him commands to exit. He complied and was taken into custody. Jose A. Ruiz, 60, of Alexandria, was transported to jail and charged with assault on a family member and brandishing a firearm. Neither victim required medical attention. At this time there is no mugshot available.
ASSAULT/ASSAULT ON A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER/ARREST: 6100 block of Essex House Square, 10/23/16 around 12:45 a.m. Officers responded to a 43-year-old woman’s home for a report of an acquaintance who assaulted her. As officers attempted to take the man into custody, he resisted and fled into a room. Then, he came out of the room and struck an officer. Officers were able to gain control and handcuffed him. Geoffrey Shraga, 34, of Lacey, Wa., was taken to jail and charged with assault and assaulting a law enforcement officer. Both victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
GRAND LARCENY/POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE/CREDIT CARD THEFT/ARREST: 5800 block of Kingstowne Boulevard (WalMart), 10/22/16, around 8:30 p.m. Loss prevention employees saw a woman leave the store without paying for merchandise. They recovered the items, however, the suspect fled in a car. Officers responded, located the vehicle, initiated a traffic stop and took her into custody. Further investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of narcotics and other stolen property. Felicia Ross, 35, of Washington D.C., was taken to jail and charged with grand larceny, possession of a schedule I or II drug, possession of stolen property with the intent to sell, and three counts of credit card theft.

WEST SPRINGFIELD DISTRICT STATION
BURGLARY: 7400 block of Little River Turnpike, 10/18/16 between 1 and 6 p.m. A 61-year-old man reported a cell phone, clothing and other items missing from his home. An investigation determined someone entered through an unlocked door. The incident was not reported until October 21; the victim did not notice immediately notice the items were missing.
INDECENT EXPOSURE: 5700 block of Burke Center Parkway (Kohl’s), 10/21/16, around 4:56 p.m. A woman was in the store when she saw a man nearby. She noticed the man was exposing himself and reported it to a store manager. The suspect was described as white, about 6 feet, approximately 200 pounds, wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, white baseball hat with yellow print, white shoes and a belt.

Fall Driving: Be Alert for Deer
ALCOHOL ENFORCEMENT
Checkpoint Results: Burke Lake Road and Lake Braddock Secondary School, 10/21/16 from 11:30 p.m. to 2.10 a.m. Officers in the West Springfield District conducted a sobriety checkpoint searching for drunk drivers. 769 cars were screened with two criminal charges, six traffic citations, and no arrests for DWI.
