Funaoka Onsen
Funaoka Onsen was built in 1923 and it was first introduced but it was not until 1933 when electric was introduced when Funaoka Onsen really took off in popularity.
The entrance fee for the Funaoka Onsen is 430 yen, you need and in addition to the indoor baths, there are also open air baths and sauna areas.
In addition, the interior decoration of the locker room to the bathhouse has a retro atmosphere from the Taisho and Showa eras, which is quite worth a visit. Although the Funaoka Onsen is a popular Kyoto, there are almost no tourists in the area. If you want to experience the unique hot springs of Kyoto, you won’t want to miss Funaoka Onsen!

Cafe SARASA
About 3 minutes walk from Kanaoka Onsen, Cafe SARASA is a coffee shop with striking arc-shaped eaves, wooden doors and windows that exude a unique and rich retro atmosphere.
Built about 80 years ago and closed in 1988, Cafe SARASA was converted into a Western style cafe in 2000. SARASA also has the traditional architectural style unique to Kyoto.
The store has plenty of space which include smoking and non- smoking areas. There are also reserved seats and general seats. A variety of books are sold on the bookshelf on the right side of the entrance.
In addition to the various bottles and jars on the open bar, information about exhibitions and events can be seen from time to time.
Wooden beams and matte walls allow visitors see the glazed majolica tiles, which is decorated with a beautiful pattern over a base of green.
There are also other glazed Majolica tiles spread around the store.
Looking out from the inside of the store, the Majolica tiles cover a wide range of store including a poster with the same design to the right.
From 12:00 am to 15:00 pm for lunch it is 940 yen per meal. There are 3 courses to choose from depending on the season which include a main course, side dishes, a salad and a drink.
The high ceilings retain the old architectural style and create a sense of space while maintaining a retro atmosphere.
The retro atmosphere is even present in the restroom. In coordination with the opening hours of the Funaoka Onsen, the cafe is open until 11:00 pm. After visiting the onsen can come check out the unique atmosphere of Kyoto.
