Everybody has a hobby, skill or interest that they wish they could talk about and share with others. Meetup.com is a website that brings people together that live in the same area with similar interests on very specific or not-so-specific topics. Here are 10 Meetups some of you probably didn’t know even existed in the Fargo-Moorhead area. Be sure to check out the full list here.

1. Fargo-Moorhead Movie Group



This group is for anyone who loves movies. Whether you love action films or small indie flicks, enjoy watching movies in the theatre or from the comfort of someone’s home give this Meetup a shout and hang out with others who like movies just as much as you do.

2. Fargo Spanish Conversation

¡Hola y bienvenidos! Founded two years ago, this active group was designed for all Spanish language learners in the Fargo-Moorhead area in mind. Come practice conversational Spanish in a fun and stress-free environment while meeting new people.

3. SCA Fargo | Shire of Korsvag



Korsvag is the Fargo chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international historical recreation group that focuses on the arts and skills of 7th-17th century Europe. You can also find more information about the group at korsvag.org and their Facebook page.

4. Fargo Hypnosis Study Group

Have you ever been a little interested in the history, benefits and/or practice of hypnosis? This Fargo-Moorhead group teaches hypnosis for those interested in using it for therapeutic benefits. The group can also help joiners meet the necessary requirements to become certified.

5. Post College Transplants New to Fargo



Post College Transplants New To Fargo was originally intended for young professionals who have moved to Fargo for work and didn’t know anyone. It has evolved to be a very social meetup not only for transplants but long-time residents. It’s a group for both college graduates who have just moved to Fargo-Moorhead area and other young people in their 20s who just want to meet new people from all walks of life.

6. Heartfulness Meditation

This meditation group discusses the history, technique and benefits of Heartfulness meditation. Participants are then guided through relaxation techniques and heart-centered meditation. The group typically meets on Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. and the entire process takes no longer than 45 minutes.

7. Red River Valley Outdoors

A group for hikers, bikers, runners, paddlers, skiers or any other outdoor activity, Red River Valley Outdoors is all about staying active outside. They meet often and have a bevy of group activities.

8. Fargo Go Club

Fargo Go club is for new or veteran players of Go, an abstract strategy board game for two players. Though this club has been active for several years, it’s always looking for new members eager learn the oriental game of strategy or a long time player looking to test their skills.

9. Geek Meet FM

Geeks come in lots of shapes and sizes, whether you’re a nerd, hacker, Star Wars enthusiast or just have a strong interest in something that most people would consider “geeky” all are welcome at Geek Meet FM. This group meets regularly.

10. Fargo Salsa and Dance Meetup

Fargo Salsa Dance Meetup is led by a salsa dance teacher hoping to bring the art form to the Fargo area. The group meets weekly at the Spirit Room in Downtown Fargo for a group lesson and costs are typically just $5. Partner is optional.
